If you’re curious about making our global community better through design—trust us, here—chat with Kate. For starters, she holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design (MU) and a Masters in Architecture (KU).  She’s put these achievements to use by designing a ‘beyond net zero’, alternative energy lab in Lawrence, KS as part of Studio 804 and by helping design/build permanent supportive housing for Dallas, TX within the bcWORKSHOP.  At Vecino, she handles Architecture and Interior Design within the Design/Build team.  In her ‘free time’ she a donates her talents to For Burkina (a NPO who works to improve rural living in Burkina Faso, Africa), Just One Humanity (whose focus is sustainable /ecological design in Third World counties) and is currently working on solutions for the refugee crisis and a design for school in Ghana.  Whatever free time is left after all this is filled with travel, anything outdoor/water-related, building furniture for nieces/nephews and planning her next global initiative:  getting a puppy.
