Located in the urban core of Utah’s capital, Bodhi Salt Lake City was created to serve a beautifully unique community. It offers market rate and affordable homes, plus set-aside units to serve those with long-term mobility disabilities, chronically homeless individuals and persons with persistent mental illness. There are onsite services via partners Housing Connect, an exercise facility, media room and meditative areas (both inside and out) for all. Plus, Bodhi has direct access to public transit so residents have the power to experience all Salt Lake has to offer—right from their own sanctuary, home.

The name Bodhi comes from the Eastern philosophical term "Bodhisattva" -- a fancy way of saying enlightenment. Nothing goes deeper than the comfort of being home, every detail of Bodhi was created to inspire.

Initally we were told the only site available in the County of Salt Lake was too small and too expensive for affordable housing. But once we saw how close it was to the TRAX station... it was perfect. We had to make something work.

My family was granted asylum in the U.S. and left Rwanda in 2016. I love Bodhi…the gym and computer room, and the staff is very respectful. I’m thankful my children can grow up in a safe environment without the fear of war or what they will eat.

Balance is important, especially where home is concerned. We made sure that the indoors and outdoors worked together for an ideal living environment at Bodhi. Be it the outdoor daybed and hammock on the upper deck, the meditative bench (with a tree!) in the central hall or the mindful landscaping throughout the property, residents find peace and comfort in the details.

The common areas in Bodhi SLC use Himilayan and Tibetan color and material accents within airy, modern spaces. This elevates as well as reinforces one’s spirit—plus the aesthetic keeps in perfect harmony with the beauty of the surrounding Utah mountains.
